The Stonehenge World Heritage Site in its Wider Context

Sunday 16th – Friday 21st October 2022

This tour has now taken place.

The Amesbury Archer

Many of us will have the EMAS Study Tour to Orkney and British Museum exhibition “The World of Stonehenge” still fresh in our minds. So now is a good time to visit – or re-visit – the Wessex Area to view some of its iconic sites from the broader perspective.

Our itinerary will include Stonehenge; Avebury – including the Museum & Church; West Kennet; Silbury; The Sanctuary; Durrington Walls; Woodhenge; Winterbourne Stoke Crossroads Barrows; Knowlton Henge; and the Dorset Cursus. We will also visit Salisbury Cathedral, Salisbury Museum, St Thomas’s Church, Salisbury and Devizes Museum.

Our guide will be Scott McCracken, and the tour programme will include two evening lectures.

Accommodation will be a hotel in Salisbury, for five nights (B&B rate).

This tour is now fully subscribed. Let us know by email to tours@emasarchaeology.org if you would like to be added to a reserve list in case of cancellations.
