Our thanks to Michael Duigan for relaunching face to face EMAS events, when he gave us the lecture “The mind’s construction in the face – Portraits of Nero” on Friday 25th February.
As many of you will know, Michael’s talks are always informative, entertaining and thought provoking, and this was no exception.
Originally planned to coincide with the British Museum exhibition, this beautifully illustrated talk also covered written comments and descriptions from Pliny, Homer, Virgil, Aristotle and Tacitus, and the contentious area of physiognomy.
Judging by the appreciation shown at the end and subsequent feedback, the full capacity audience obviously enjoyed the event.
And we can now look forward to another lecture from Michael on Friday 25th March.
